Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International is the leading Fairtrade standard setting and certification body. It regularly inspects and certifies about 508 producer organizations in more than 60 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It permits nearly 1,5 million producers, workers and their dependents in more than 60 developing countries to benefit from labeled Fairtrade.

Credit Specialist - German Speaking
Job location: Brussels

Reporting to the Credit Manager Europe, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Performance of credit control within established credit policies and procedures. Handling of cash collection and application activity;
  • Working closely with credit and sales teams on attaining DSO, past dues targets to help the business to achieve its cash objectives;
  • Handling of all phases of standard collection activity under minimal supervision;
  • Handling of cash application and investigation for payment differences and follow up;
  • Performance of daily credit control of customer orders;
  • Interpreting of credit rating reports and customer’s non financial information performs basic financial interpretations;
  • Working with insurance agent on securing company assets;
  • Development of an understanding of solid credit risk analysis (training is possible);
  • Development of working liaisons with customers and business organisations, e.g. Sales, Customer Service, Treasury, Legal, Auditors.

Requirements:
  • The successful candidate has a Bachelor or a Master degree in Finance or Accounting combined with at least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, in .accounting or within a credit role.
  • He/she has a reasonable knowledge of corporate policies and procedures and is used to work in a SOX environment.
  • A good understanding of Excel is essential.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • He/she is perfectly fluent in English and German.
  • Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

He/she is able to communicate well and express point-of-view effectively and seeks ‘win/win’ solutions for customers and the company when resolving outstanding receivable balances and issues. He/she continually learns and grows as professional and likes challenging projects and assignments.
