A day in the life of a Business Controller & Advisor

As Finance Treasury Controller & Advisor, you will be responsible for and contribute to:

Keeping the bank safe and compliant through a solid closing process, ensuring we remain in control of ING’s Treasury and Financial Markets business;
Delivering optimal financial accounting processes and solutions, translating business events into the general ledger according to the applicable accounting principles;
Explaining evolutions and supporting the Reporting team for statutory & regulatory reporting;
Performing ad hoc analysis/in-depth analytical reviews;
Acting as gatekeeper of the bank’s hedge accounting processes;
Continuously improving our processes and quality of output.

You are a self-starting and critical individual willing to zoom in, in order to zoom out. Furthermore you have:

Master’s degree, preferably in the areas of Finance, accounting, business administration or business economics;
Knowledge of Finance and preferably of treasury & ALM (asset & liability management);
Knowledge of financial markets instruments (e.g. derivatives, bonds, repo’s, Foreign Exchange) and IFRS 9;
Communication skills: the ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of stakeholders (incl. high value specialists and general management);
You don’t shy away from complexity, are eager to learn, pro-active and able to work both autonomously and in team.
