The Luxembourg office has been recently established as a result of the setting up of a funding and holding company structure and serves as a key management and decision making centre. It is expected that this structure will continue to grow and evolve in the coming years.
Your Job
You are part of the finance team ● Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the finance, accounting and tax compliance of the Luxembourg entities ● On a daily basis, you maintain the local books ● You report to the Luxembourg Financial Controller ●
Your main responsibilities
- Production and maintenance of local accounting records (in JDE accounting system);
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly closing of the books in US GAAP; perform balance sheet reconciliations;
- Perform periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) financial data reporting to the Group via Cartesis (consolidation software) and Cargill’s Web;
- Support and monitor the payment process (suppliers and intercompany invoices, travel & expenses,…);
- Liaise with Group counterparts and external service providers on an ad hoc basis;
- Periodic analysis and reporting on profit & loss and balance sheet;
- Assist with budgets preparation and follow-up;
- Participate in the local forex exposure reporting and monitoring;
- Prepare annual statutory accounts considering differences between US GAAP and Lux GAAP;
- Participate in compliance with VAT requirements (proper processing of invoices, preparation of VAT returns);
- Assist with preparation of income tax returns;
- Help with processes and systems improvements within Finance department;
- Participate in projects depending on business needs and developments in statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- University degree in finance/ business administration;
- 3-4 years experience in accounting and finance in an international environment – Big 4 audit experience preferred;
- Fast learning and self-developing; curiosity to learn;
- Self starter willing to take responsibility. Able to proactively identify and solve issues;
- Proven experience in managing priorities/ handling multiple tasks in parallel and meeting deadlines;
- Strong analytical and communication skills;
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) and preferable French;
- Strong Knowledge of Lux GAAP;
- Knowledge of US GAAP investment accounting is an asset / Experience with JDE and Cartesis is a pro;
- Highly competent with Microsoft Excel;
- Flexibility on working time during periodic closings.
