Senior Java Developer for European Commission

Responsibilities:
You will work as Senior Analyst Programmer on the technical analysis, development and maintenance of multi-tier web applications with J2EE architecture, Oracle databases and Business Objects reporting technology, including:
- Technical analysis and technical specifications of WEB applications/modules based on user requirements/functional analysis;
- Development and maintenance of multi-tier applications with Web interfaces (Java, WebLogic, J2EE/EJB/JSP, Oracle);
- Applying an appropriate quality assurance: unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, performance testing and code coverage checking;
- Integration with other applications and/or other developed modules;
- Assistance with deployment and configuration management;
- Production of technical documentation;
- Involvement in occasional meetings with the system owners and regular meetings with project management and business analysts as a basis for drafting the technical analysis.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Minimum 6 years of experience with Java/J2EE;
- Minimum 10 years of total education and experience after second school;
- Strong analytical skills and an accurate and structural working attitude;
- JAVA / JEE knowledge including proven experience with Hibernate and Spring;
- JEE web development expertise including proven experience with MVC frameworks (e.g. Spring MVC, Struts), JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, JSP and related tag libraries;
- Ability to build complex web user interfaces;
- Knowledge of ORACLE RDBMS and ability to write SQL queries; Knowledge of PL/SQL is an advantage;
- Knowledge of development methodologies (e.g. RUP) and modelling (e.g. UML);
- Configuration management using a version control tool (e.g. Subversion).
Language knowledge: English (good level), French will be appreciated.
Is a team-player and self-starter able to cope with fast changing technologies.
