The IT Transformation Officer (ITTO) is responsible for management, coordination and oversight of the portfolio of initiatives in the IT Transformation Programs. The ITTO, together with his team will coordinate Program Managers, Executive Sponsors and teams, plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates milestones and activities. ITTO will act as the entry point for IT Transformation activities through a matrix structure of the Group.

The ITTO will produce, will be accountable and the custodian of the Transformation Master Schedule and the delivery of its benefits, including a robust governance model. The Transformation Master Schedule will be an Agile @scale inspired set of practices, ceremonies and artifacts that will help the organization to steer the IT transformation in terms of value generation, deliverables, milestones and resources.

He will strike a balance between the empowerment of the initiatives to deliver their part of the transformation benefits, and the steer on those initiatives towards realization of the value expected for the IT transformation

Main responsibilities:

  • Actively engages and aligns the multiple stakeholder groups to execute the smooth delivery of the Transformation Programs
  • Coordinates initiatives in the IT Transformation Program, together with respective sponsors and teams
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with assigned Program participants and acts as focal point for Transformation Program related activities
  • Establishes, maintains, and leads the Transformation Office team, including establishment of Program plans and enabling processes
  • Together with the initiative sponsors, drives Program and project performance, (e.g., delivery on commitments, quality, responsiveness, reliability, service, and development) and financial performance (e.g., revenue, contribution margin, billing, receivables, warranty, and growth process)
  • Together with Program Managers manage the governance and controlling process for the project portfolio throughout the project lifecycle - from project planning (use case and business case development, milestone and end product planning, resource planning, benefits, etc.), ramp-up and execution, through to project closure
  • Provides technical expertise in planning, and leadership of Program, projects, and initiatives
  • Controls Program scope, baseline changes, and net investment during design, development, and production of assigned Programs
  • Maintains excellent relationships with all levels of the matrix organization
  • Ensures appropriate resolution of issues and mitigation/remediation of risks/Impediments
  • Ensures timely, accurate and transparent reporting on progress of the IT Transformation Program to all relevant stakeholders
  • Support the execution of the Transformation Programs by creating transparency and facilitating decision making on the Program progress
  • Together with Finance ensures detailed tracking of transformation related benefits
  • Supports the definition and ensures execution of change management initiatives (e.g., frequent communication, training academy)
  • Ensures provision of required talent to deliver IT transformation and BAU activities(full lifecycle: onboarding, upskilling, evaluation, exiting)

Main Tasks:

  • Ownership of the Transformation Master Schedule
  • Ownership of the Transformation Office Governance Model
  • Ownership of Transformation Program budget and finances with support from ITO Finance Team
  • Setup and manage Program Office War room and make visible inter-connected projects and dependencies
  • Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
  • Actively drive delivery and dependencies to meet deadlines, budgets and activities
  • Effectively apply change, risk and resource management
  • Assess Program performance and aim to maximize ROI
  • Ensure preparation of reports on the progress of projects or Programs and metrics for all stakeholders
  • Conduct required activities to enable benefits realization
  • Assesses the value and organizational impact of the Program
  • Identifies the interdependencies of benefits being delivered among various projects within the Program
  • Ensures that targeted benefits are specific, measurable, actual, realistic and time-based
  • Analyzes the potential impact of planned Program changes on benefits outcome
  • Assigns responsibilities and accountability for the actual benefits required from the Program
  • Build and maintain Stakeholder Matrix
  • Oversee preparation and execution of Change Management & Communication Plan
  • Actively collect feedback from stakeholders
  • Establishing and leading senior executive-level communication forums (EXCO and ITSC) and Program/projects channels across Group IT


Key knowledge & experience:

  • Strong experience in project management
  • Understanding IT environment
  • Experience implementing projects and coordinating large Programs of work
  • Lead Transformation Program (project management capability)
  • Personal impact in terms of influencing, coaching and communication skills
  • Ability to blend maturity with willingness to roll up the sleeves as and when required
  • Ability to work across organization at all levels
  • Ability to influence, coach/mentor, and listen
  • Ability to see big picture and effectively operate with minimum information
  • Strong communication skills
  • Program management capabilities including strong co-ordination skills across multiple sites
  • Ability to succeed in a dynamic matrix organization
  • Excellent process modelling skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work on multiple activities at the same time
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • 5+ years’ experience in Transformation Programs (Lean Transformation, Operational Excellence, Continuous Service/Process Improvement etc.)
  • Previous experience of working as an external and Internal consultant with a recognized consultancy company
  • Experience working in an Agile/Kanban environment
  • IT based degree, university degree, or equivalent work experience required and banking qualifications
  • Project Management certification (PMI or PRINCE2)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (min) from Banking Industry
