Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

To be the HR Business Partner of Shared Services in Europe, supporting the HR & Business priorities within Shared functions in Bornem and Distribution & Logistics teams across Belgium, Czech Republic, Netherlands & UK.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Partner 85%

  • Develop affective and progressive people strategies;
  • Identify and develop the next generation of leaders;
  • Align organizational structure on strategic objectives. Lead organizational design and effectiveness strategy to meet long range planning and business growth:
  • Creating a talent strategy vision. Identifying and understanding the talent needs of the business;
  • Establish HR strategies to respond to changing business needs including short and long term HR goals, objectives and policies;
  • Identifying critical HR metrics assessing the HR implications of strategic options and prioritize HR initiatives and needs in support of the business;
  • Lead in the implementation of the organizational development structure as appropriate for the functional client group;
  • Business confidante to senior leadership, act as advisor on HR and business issue and impacts;
  • Providing coaching to the organization.

Emergency Responder 5%

  • Responding to leader’s needs;
  • Assuring response to manager and employee needs;
  • Quick assessment of regional changes or compliance or contentious issues and determining viable solutions.

Operations Manager 5%

  • Assessing employee attitudes and tracking trends in employee behaviors;
  • Keeping senior leadership updated on HR initiatives and trends;
  • Developing and driving a strategy to maintain a positive culture;
  • Compliancy and evaluation of HR policies and procedures;
  • Evaluate and recommend improvement of compensation strategy and programs.

Employee Mediator 5%

  • Managing conflict;
  • Resolving political problems in the execution of business plans;
  • Anticipating and responding to organizational changes and deploying affective change management protocol.

ORGANISATION

Supervisor: HR Director - Shared Services EMEA

Direct Reports: DC HR Managers (Belgium, Czech, Netherlands)

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: VP Finance, VP Distribution & Fulfillment (& direct reports of these roles), HR Operations team, wider HR team, Finance

External: Recruitment Headhunters, legal advice…

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.

  • Education: University Degree or equivalent;
  • Experience: Progressive experience in a generalist HR role;
  • Language skills: Fluent English;
  • Analytical Skills: Understanding of business KPI’s, ability to understand financial data, salary benchmarking data & staff turnover information.

  • Enthusiastic, with a ‘can-do’ approach;
  • Strong orientation towards building business relations and understanding the business needs;
  • Capability to combine multiple tasks and to work against deadlines;
  • Organised, able to prioritise and push back;
