Kennedys is looking for a Legal Secretary to join our team in our Brussels office. The successful Legal Secretary will provide an efficient, proactive and comprehensive secretarial service to a busy team of fee earners, supporting the team with varied and interesting secretarial and administrative tasks. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in aviation looking for a leading global insurance law firm.

Team

Kennedys Brussels office has strong and recognised legal and professional expertise in aviation, transport and commercial matters since our office opened in 2013. The office is led by Partner Dimitri de Bournonville and he and a small team offer an unrivalled level of legal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in handling of litigation, including completing pro-forma documentation and any other associated documentation in relation to the preparation of claims and litigation as directed by the lawyers;
  • Be responsible for certain low value claims which follow a set process and procedure under the close supervision of the lawyers;
  • Liaise with the lawyers in relation to issuing and chasing client invoices, reminding the lawyers when to chase clients for bills;
  • Produce a variety of documents from handwritten/typewritten drafts;
  • Deal accurately with filing - storage and retrieval of client files.

Required experience

  • Previous legal secretarial experience;
  • Fast and accurate touch typing skills;
  • Proficient in MS Office packages;
  • Knowledge of case management systems;
  • Proficient English and Dutch language skills.
