Job Description

The challenge

General Overview

  • Providing strategic financial & business planning advice;
  • Provision of corporate financial reports;
  • Investigating & advising on highly complex financial issues, such as refinancing, structuring of acquisitions, financial simulations for different projects, etc.;
  • Revision for the formulation, revision and/or analysis of financial models and basic project studies to assist the management in making sound financing & investment decision;
  • Provide financial support for Mergers and Acquisitions;
  • Formulate, review, maintain and up-date the financial model of the company to forecast its financial health and determine its ability to meet its financial obligations to lenders and shareholders;
  • Prepares projects studies, project analysis, and periodic reports to lenders and shareholders as well as compliance reports;
  • Assists the top management in establishing a pipeline of future projects for the long term growth of the company;
  • Ensures that the financial models and project studies and their analyses are accurate and reliable;
  • Manage advisory and negotiation of external financing.

Bank and Investors relations

  • Manage global relations with the bank and investors on a regular basis;
  • Quarterly external reporting;
  • Manage the specific internet site related to these activities;
  • Available to answer individual questions from investors.

Quarterly and Annual closing

  • In charge of reconciling financial results on a quarterly basis;
  • Participates in external and internal reporting with a focus on financial charges (everything that is underneath EBITDA, such as tax, financial ratios, etc.);
  • Support to the Group FP&A Director for internal reporting, such as the monthly report for the Comex and quarterly reports for the Board and the Audit Committee;
  • In charge of drafting notes of the consolidated annual report related to financial results and group indebtedness;
  • In charge of annual impairment test (fixed assets, goodwill, investments, CGU);
  • Quarterly covenant calculation with variance analysis.


  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting financial results as well as financing needs;
  • In collaboration with the Group FP&A Director, actively participates to 5YP exercise in planning below EBITDA items and financing needs as well as forecasting consolidated covenants.


  • Responsible for the valorization of Carmeuse Holding Shares – case by case.

Support of HR from a financial perspective

  • Provide support for LTI (long term incentives), short term bonuses and remuneration policies.

Support to Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Support to regions upon request;
  • Actively participate to Group projects;
  • Play a role of red teamer, reviewing and challenging regional projects before being presented to the Executive Committee.

Ideal candidate profile

  • Candidates must possess at least a master's degree in business finance, economics, finance and administration;
  • At least 10 years of financial management background;
  • At least 5 years of working experience in finance in an industry;
  • Experience in treasury management is a plus;
  • Fluent in English and French;
  • Needed knowledge:
    • Corporate finance specialists must have experience in financing, financial securities, international finance, regulatory requirements, business analysis and valuation;
    • This expert also must have statistical, mathematical and financial statement analysis skills;
    • Strong negotiation skills and excellent story telling;
    • Experience in Tax and in Insurance is a plus.
  • Soft skills:
    • High level leadership qualities;
    • Planning, organisation & delivery of a broad range of activities;
    • Customer focus for internal and external clients;
    • High level presentation skills with high amount of impact;
    • Communication of financial information to non-finance staff;
    • Influencing skills;
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French;
    • Pro-active approach and ability to deal with ambiguity and to live in an unstructured environment and be able to structure it;
    • Assertive and not afraid to challenge in all directions;
    • Good analytical skills;
    • Ability to lead difficult negotiations;
    • Creative with a healthy approach to risk taking.
