The Financial Reporting Expert is responsible for:
Critical investigation of (non-) recurring transactions and determination of the applicable accounting, to ensure accurate, timely and qualitative periodic reporting, including explanation of significant movements towards the majority shareholder and in line with applicable accounting standards/guidelines ((nternational Financial Reporting Standard – IFRS and US General Accepted Accounting Principles - US GAAP and Group Accounting Manual).
Design and implement internal control processes to assure the reliability of financial reporting, amongst others as part of the Sarbanes Oxley act. Participate in and monitor projects to improve/optimalize the reporting process.
Act as first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders with regards to financial reporting and consolidation.
Advise internal data and information suppliers on the development of systems and procedures to provision information required for reporting in an efficient manner and in line with the applicable legal requirements.
Perform periodic reconciliations between the different financial data (IFRS, Belgian and US GAAP) and perform quality controls on the consolidated finanical records of the group in line with the IFRS standards (Quarterly Earnings Release, Half Year en Yearly Reports), to allow the release of the data towards the market.
Provide periodic external information towards the National Bank and create the statutory annual accounts in line with the Belgian accounting rules.
