The Association of German Banks, with headquarters in Berlin and liaison offices in Brussels and Frankfurt, is one of the largest financial industry associations in Germany. We represent the interests of private German banks and fintechs at national, European and international level.

Although this is a permanent full-time position (38 hours per week) in our European and International Affairs team based in Brussels, we would also consider employing someone on a part-time basis.

The team you will be working with deals with European and international market and regulation topics – in the field of international affairs, the focus is mainly on the US and UK markets - as well as with European banking regulation and is responsible for cooperating with the European banking associations.

Your responsibilities:

  • To help organise policy meetings – in particular for the banks’ presidents, boards of directors and executive board members;
  • To help organise events in Brussels;
  • To help organise committee meetings for the Association of German Banks;
  • To coordinate the drafting of preparatory documents for bilateral meetings, events and committee meetings;
  • To monitor press releases and draft summaries for a variety of information formats;
  • To update intranet and internet content;
  • To complete paperwork (draft letters, notes etc.);
  • To support and supervise interns.

Our requirements and expectations:

  • You have successfully completed a vocational training or study course (preferably in a subject relating to business, politics or languages);
  • You have excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • You are able to express yourself confidently in written and spoken German and English, preferably with an advanced knowledge of French as well;
  • You are digitally competent and proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • You are a diligent and reliable worker who is also loyal and dependable;
  • You are proactive and capable of working unsupervised;
  • You are flexible, enjoy versatility and working in an international environment with an array of challenges;
  • You enjoy being creative and are open to new ideas;
  • You are able to work independently and in a team;
  • You have a friendly and engaging manner.
