DESCRIPTION

The Senior Manager in Sales Strategy will define and perform the new strategic sales plan in EMEA aiming at generating business expansion and growth, in a context of tools and cultural transformation within the Sales team. He/she will be also steering the business planning and performance field and lead and mentor a business analyst in his/her team.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing a go-to-market Sales strategy for our new products and portfolio extension (incl. the new Radisson Collection brand, Resorts, Apartments) as well as our Leisure segment. He/she will also identify and articulate new initiatives (eg. Bleisure business) and new markets to develop in EMEA. He/she will also develop the expansion from a traditional Corporate business to a 360 offer that enables to capture short break and weekend gateway business.

Additional responsibilities include the preparation of insightful material for the team’s participation in key strategic conferences with the Senior stakeholders of the Sales team to contribute in the formulation of the strategy and winning aspiration of the division. Also, he/she will take part in specific customer forums and panels while representing RHG (Radisson Hotel Group) and developing trusting and respectful business partnerships.

The Senior Strategic Manager must me characterized by having extremely strong problem-solving skills and high ability to identify business opportunities. Moreover, strong communication skills are needed to articulate the findings in both small and larger groups (meetings and on stage).

Position Summary:

Directing Activities 15%

  • Identify Best Practices and cascade them down to all levels and cross-regions;
  • Communicating and coordinating with the RHG sales & operational teams to ensure sales strategies are followed and deployed;
  • Communicating with involved departments such as Marketing, Loyalty & Business Development to ensure the Sales strategy is being followed and coordinated actions are being made.

Planning Activities 20%

  • Together with the Director of Sales Strategy & Planning, identify initiatives and new markets to play in across EMEA;
  • Staying abreast of and reacting to business trends to prioritize, focus and enhance the contribution from the EMEA International sales teams;
  • Construct and sustain analytical skills to maintain statistical models and create baseline performance forecast;
  • Anticipating the transformation of the business as usual and bring new products to meet the new expectations and needs of the market.

Supervising Activities 25%

  • Ensuring that all people in the Sales team are aware of the Sales Strategy and equipped to excel in their roles and have all the tools to execute the defined actions;
  • Strengthen relationships and drive loyalty from RHG’s global account portfolio within the Leisure Travel and Luxury Travel and Meetings segments into the Radisson Hotel Group;
  • Ensuring the department has accurate, up to date information about the marketplace, industries and segments and using it to seek opportunities and optimize incremental revenue generation;
  • Supervision of the elaboration of the appropriate strategy and plan of new openings – in coordination with Business Development and Marketing departments.

Professional Management Activities 40%

  • Identify growth opportunities and suggest specific actions to improve performance;
  • Anticipate the transformation of the business as usual and bring new products to meet the new expectations and needs of the market;
  • Identify new initiatives that drive the Leisure segment, expected to be one of the fastest recovering from Covid;
  • Be current in industry trends both within the hotel segment and within the various business segments;
  • Creating a culture which motivates and encourages team members to perform to the best of their ability, minimizing conflict if it occurs and managing/resolving it when it does occur.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable supervision:

Educational skills required:

  • University degree at bachelor level or equivalent or experience in lieu thereof.

Professional experience:

  • Significant work experience in Strategy roles (i.e. Consulting, Services).

Language skills:

  • Outstanding command of written and spoken English.

Leading Skills required:

  • Excellent soft skills, specially communication skills given the high level of interaction and coordination with Area leaders (both written and public speaking);
  • Facility to enhance collaboration among cross-functional teams including with other divisions of the organization (i.e. Marketing);
  • Analytical capability to treat financial data and be able to make strategic and tactical decisions (i.e. Business case for new initiatives);
  • Ethical behavior and absolute discretion with sensitive information around clients and internal decisions;
  • Understanding of opportunities facing a complex internal and external environment;
  • Proactivity in identifying and actioning initiatives required to ensure business growth;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to address any issue in collaboration with others, identify and prevent potential problems and develop problem-solving skills in others;
  • Ability to simplify complex problematic to provide focus and offer alternative solutions;
  • Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings;
  • Ability to deliver performance feedback to the team members;
  • University degree at bachelor level or equivalent or experience in lieu thereof;
  • Significant work experience in Strategy roles (i.e. Consulting, Services).
