A new role within the CDSO Office was created within the context of Impact24. The BDD “Operational Excellence” will:
Lead all transversal business initiatives on Operational Excellence within our business, supporting the Group-wide implementation of the Impact24 plan;
Collaborate with all 4 Business CEO’s, the CDSO and the BDD’s for “New Engines” and “Core”, senior business executives in CC and all OPCO’s and the Executive Committee to deliver on the new 3-year strategic plan;
Be responsible for the Group role, prioritising opportunities to increase the Operational Excellence of Ageas’s business, coordinating all transversal projects aligned to Operational Excellence in core competences and operations, and organising the knowledge and expertise Ageas can bring to the OPCO’s and JV partners to realise the Impact24 ambitions and beyond and to keep Ageas future-proof;
Act as a member of CDSO steering committee.
Impact 24 strategy implementation & Business Development: Understands each business unit’s strategy and operational processes, identifies opportunities to turbo charge our progress by further deploying technology and data and enhancing our customer experience by looking for ways to enhance the end-to-end customer journey. Significant Operational Excellence gains will help compensate for the anticipated low interest rate impact whilst improving the quality of work for our employees. Identifies and proposes business development opportunities and projects in Operational Excellence that activate and improve performance in our core competences towards the Impact 24 goal and beyond. Helps the entities construct a view on its future state raising observed market developments, trends, confronting with benchmarks. Helps to prioritise, design, and promote key projects that would lead to reaching this future state. Leverages the strength of the Group to bring additional firepower to all planned actions. Reporting into the CDSO; and will provide quarterly/ad hoc reporting to MCO and six-month reporting to the Board;
Steers transversal initiatives on Operational Excellence: Steers all transversal business initiatives aligned to “Operational Excellence” allowing us to achieve leading expense ratios in line with the market leading position and crucial to our success in new market dynamics. Responsible for delivering identified business development projects on core competences such as AI/Machine learning, Claims, Pricing/Underwriting, Data Analytics, defining project plan (assessing end-to-end current situation, designing end-to-end target situation, identifying actions and performance indicators), setting up collaboration between different parties concerned and leading the project team, monitoring performance indicators, anticipating, mitigating and solving/escalating issues in order to ensure effective project implementation under the ownership of the local operating companies;
Innovation: Maintains a strong overview of all Ageas entities strategic goals and operating plans, applying important knowledge of near-term and long-term trends that could shape the horizon, and making Operational Excellence recommendations to the CDSO and Ageas MCO on initiatives and actions required to deliver on Impact24 ambitions and objectives. Scans for relevant technologies, digital platforms, innovations, start-ups specifically aimed at supporting identified performance improvement projects within operating entities, driving knowledge sharing with a purpose;
Expertise Development: Keeps abreast with trends and evolutions on the strategic themes identified within Impact24 and the priorities agreed with the CDSO and Ageas MCO. Creates an effective network (direct contacts, platforms, conference...) to disseminate information and provide a platform for brainstorming and mutual challenging between entities’ experts on chosen strategic themes;
Advice/ad-hoc research capacity: You will research, analyse, structure, and present conclusions on specific ad-hoc topics highlighted by the operating entities as important;
Knowledge Sharing & Transfer: Identifies and facilitates implementation of best practices in all elements of the value chain within operating companies or outside of Ageas.
Master’s degree and 7-10 years of relevant working experience;
Passionate about operations and possibilities of data & tech to drive Operational Excellence;
Knowledge of the international insurance business & markets;
Financials of insurance entities and the key drivers driving profitability;
Sound understanding of Strategy concepts;
Project management skills & leading a (project) team;
Conceptual thinking level and capability to structure complex problems and solutions;
Mentality to act at the level of a senior professional and ability to explain complex issues in simple terms;
Cultural awareness and ability to work with people with different backgrounds;
