The Digital Business Development Manager will identify and engage stakeholders for strategic partnerships and lead efforts on membership expansion, by discovering and closing leads resulting in entities joining as members. In addition, he or she will lead the development of new products and services for existing and new members, including an integrated web platform, in close collaboration with our in-house IT specialist.

Key tasks:

  • Own the membership acquisition process: prospecting, pipeline building and opportunity identification;
  • Generate leads, foster and develop relationships and prospect potential members;
  • Become the key contact between the association and the members of the European Digital Innovators Club;
  • Seek and receive feedback in order to improve the membership experience and work towards full membership retention;
  • Strategically expand and refine products and services offered by DIGITAL SME to existing and potential new members, increasing value of membership services;
  • Create and implement promotional strategy and activities for the European Digital Innovators Club, in collaboration with the Communications team;
  • Develop and implement the association business sales and promotional strategy, in close cooperation with the communications, policy and project management teams;
  • Contribute to furthering the association’s own digitalisation and automation to increase scalability of services;
  • Contribute to integrating the association’s customer relationship management software with the web platform, as well as existing and future digital tools and resources, to make the best use of data and analytics.

Other tasks:

  • Refine existing and conceptualise new functionalities for the integrated web platform, e.g. tailored surveys/consultations, messaging, networking, visibility, and other functionalities;
  • Ensure a clean and systematic overview and documentation of the association’s IT architecture and developments;
  • Seek ways of improving how the association operates and create new income streams other than membership revenue;
  • Represent the association in seminars, conferences, and events where appropriate.

Required skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, sales and marketing or related field;
  • A first experience in a customer-service or business development role, ideally in an entrepreneurial environment or a membership-based organisation;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Comfortable using marketing automation platforms and databases
  • Experience working in a team and owning a team player mentality;
  • Strong work ethics and entrepreneurial attitude;
  • Diplomatic, articulate and capable negotiator;
  • Excellent communications skills, oral and written
  • Fully eligible to work in Belgium.

Bonus skills:

  • Experience in IT project management or business development related to digital products and services is a strong plus;
  • Programming (HTML/CSS, PHP, WordPress, CiviCRM, MySQL) and UI/UX design experience;
  • Fluency in other European languages.
