Your role
As Teamlead Accounts Payable within the Virtual Delivery Center, you are coordinating a team of 6 accountants, located in Belgium, Germany and Poland.
You and your team are responsible for the accounts payable and bank statement registration activities for our location in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.
You will be in contact with suppliers, local finance teams and buyers to ensure that purchase invoices are timely registered and paid.
Your direct colleagues are 3 Senior Accountants located in different European countries with whom you work together to creates synergies, optimize workflows and identify bottlenecks within the current way of working.
You report to the Virtual Delivery Center (VDC) lead.
Your key responsibilities and challenges are:
- Together with your team you ensure that all purchase invoices and expense notes assigned to your team are processed in time, execute outgoing payments and ensure that bank statements are registered daily.
- You are responsible for the day-to-day prioritization of the tasks of your team, in agreement with the VDC lead.
- You are also responsible for accounting related activities such as reconciliations, reported month end closing and audit support, linked with accounts payable.
- As the direct lead of your team, you take care, together with the VDC lead, of all HR related tasks such as vacation planning, objective setting and evaluation, employee development ...
- You will continuously look for efficiencies, improvements and automation of the accounting processes.
- You will participate in improvement change projects and provide assistance in your area of expertise to the local finance teams.
Are you the one we’re looking for?
- You have a master’s degree or bachelor’s in accounting degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience (AP or AR)
- You are a driven and respectful team-player, with the ability to coach and support your team.
- You are stress-resistant, a good communicator and bring a calm approach to the team.
- You take initiative and you know how to introduce new ideas into the team.
- You are strongly skilled within SAP (VIM & FI) and MS Office Tools.
- You are fluent in English. Dutch and French is an advantage.
- You are embedded into finance, with knowledge of VAT and fiscal treatment of disallowed expenses.
- You are a good planner who can also work independently.
- You work accurately and have an analytical mind.
- You are a genuine people manager preferably with affinity for international teams.
- You are willing to travel occasionally.
