Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a talented Business controller who will act as a dedicated business partner for Operations and Shared Services departments, actively supporting and challenging your stakeholders to optimize performance, drive value creation, and translate strategy into measurable results.

Main activities
- Responsible to coordinate the multi-year planning process for the assigned domains, with the aim to deliver an accurate view on the company’s future periods. This involves the planning of any information relevant to make decisions shaping the future.
- Perform in-depth analysis of planned versus actual results, including monthly performance, full-year forecasts, and comparisons against budget and prior periods.
- Actively involve and align key stakeholders throughout the planning process to ensure a collaborative, high-quality outcome.
- Yearly long-term strategic plan exercise, finetuning and reviewing the next 4 year financial plan. Assisting and taking part in the Management meeting to present and discuss the outcome.
- Develop scenario planning, sensitivity analyses, and risk & opportunity assessments to support robust decision-making.
- Ensure clear and recurrent communication of results, forecasts, and key insights to business stakeholders, organizing clarification and deep-dive sessions when required.
- Development and follow up of KPIs, assisting the department to take decisions or change direction when needed
- Setting up clarification meetings with stakeholders when needed on specific topics.
- Support business stakeholders in the development of business cases and related financial plan. Provide the necessary knowledge and methods to review the validity of a business case. Review the business case before it send and presented to the company’s board for decision.
- Support and contribute together with business stakeholders to the company continuous improvement program (‘BeeEfficient’). Brainstorm with stakeholders about new initiatives, and support in the follow-up of the realization of the initiative.
- Ensure cost control and cost transparency within assigned domains, identifying efficiency and savings opportunities while safeguarding business performance.
- Coordinate and validate financial inputs during the month-end closing and reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial information.
- Join strategic projects within the company, where a Business Controller is key in the project to make sure reliable information is being used, challenges the project on the way, and overlooks the financials of the project.
- Review and challenge personnel hiring requests launched within the company.
- Create the necessary reporting (prototypes), and coordinate the sustainable development with the Controlling Analytics & reporting team.

Where do you land?
You will be part of a department which oversees the Company’s financial and business performance, in order to make sure Brussels Airlines achieves its financial targets, realizes profitable growth, and contributes financially to the Lufthansa Group. In particular the department focuses on xP&A powered by Anaplan, and next to that acts as an internal consultant for strategic and financial exercises, supporting the different Management layers of the company.

- University Degree in Economics
- Previous experience in the area of Controlling or performance oriented role
- Position required affinity for tools in order to fully utilize the tools made available, ranging from ERP (SAP), Anaplan, Excel, Spotfire, …
- MS Office stack
- Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving mindset
- Entrepreneurial mindset and hans-on attitude
- Strong conceptual capabilities and ability to understand business requests from all levels
- Experience with organizing workshops is an asset
- Ability to work independent, and above all a natural team player
- Clear communicator and presenter, able to organize workshops
- Fluent in English (Flemish and/or French is a strong asset)
