Who are we looking for?
Within our Maintenance & Engineering department at Brussels Airlines, the AMOS Data Specialist & Application Expert (BI-Focus) will report to the Manager of Application Management and play a key role in managing and improving core technical software applications in the CAMO and Part 145 environments.
The focus for this position is to act as a data management liaison: shaping the M&E data landscape, maintaining its structure and coordinating its effective use. You will provide data from our production systems to our end-users in the definitive form of ready-to-use reports, or as curated datasets that empower end-users to build and reuse insights through self-service reporting tools.
You will manage, manipulate and promote the effective use of data to support daily operations, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, company policies, and regulatory compliance standards. Given its role as our primary production system, a strong, in-depth understanding of the AMOS data structure is essential.
While the primary focus is on managing the data used and generated by our applications, you will also contribute to the Application Management team in your role as an AMOS Data Specialist & Application Expert (BI-Focus) by:
- Administering, supporting, and continuously enhancing technical applications (e.g., AMOS, Crossmos eTLB, flydocs DMS, Aviatar, SP Expert) and mobile devices to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction;
- Acting as the primary contact for stable support and change requests, expanding the value of the digital ecosystem through software expertise;
- Contributing to the AMOS Competence Center (ACC) to optimize application performance and user experience.
This position requires a proactive professional dedicated to driving application performance, user satisfaction, and the overall effectiveness of the digital ecosystem.
Tasks:
- Data Management & Integration:
- Liaison & focal point between M&E & Analytics teams;
- Focal point for all M&E data-related matters within the department, and externally;
- Support data analysis incl. definition & standardization of M&E KPI’s within Brussels Airlines & LH Group context;
- KPI creation;
- Support operational, tactical & executive-level reporting needs;
- Subject matter expert, providing system data & development expertise for both Brussels Airlines & LH Group wide initiatives & analytics projects;
- Coordination, alignment of requirements & implementation of data requests, while ensuring compliance;
- Create and maintain reports, widgets, and forms; monitor system performance; and collaborate with IT and suppliers on server management;
- Troubleshoot & resolve technical or programming issues in SQL, including query performance;
- Perform data verification & data clean-up;
- Analysis, evaluate & improve existing business processes & procedures for users & interfaces.
- Application Support:
- Ensure optimal performance of core Maintenance & Engineering software (CAMO and Part 145), serving as the primary user contact;
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, implement new functionalities, conduct unit testing, and manage integrations/interfaces;
- Assist key business users with data corrections and communicate relevant application updates.
- Application Development & Improvements:
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and configuration implementation for new releases and updates;
- Assess innovations and features, evaluate their impact, and ensure alignment with business needs in collaboration with key users;
- Analyze and optimize business processes in alignment with organizational goals and application functionalities;
- Provide strategic guidance for developing existing applications in coordination with CAMO, Part 145, and Lufthansa Group Technical Fleet Management;
- Support digitization initiatives by gathering requirements, documenting needs, and proposing solutions;
- Lead or contribute to application development projects.
- Application Standards:
- Support data clean-up and maintenance activities for relevant applications and databases;
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance application efficiency.
- Hardware Support:
- Collaborate with IT to support, configure, and set up mobile devices and hardware for the Maintenance & Engineering department.

- University degree (Bachelor’s) with focus on IT-administration or engineering, or equivalent through experience, with several years of work experience in relevant field (Aircraft maintenance and/or application management);
- Strong technical background with knowledge of aircraft maintenance & engineering processes or demonstrated strong interest in the sector;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with AMOS or equivalent systems, preferably in an administrator or key user role;
- In depth knowledge of the AMOS Data Table Structure;
- Expert in working with databases and excellent SQL skills;
- Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex IT systems and landscapes;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to understand complex issues from both business and technical perspectives, with a focus on resolving issues and supporting internal customers effectively;
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying messages clearly and effectively, with a proactive and open attitude that emphasizes teamwork;
- Ambitious with a willingness to learn and adapt;
- Proficient in English (verbal and written); Dutch and/or French is a plus.
