GL Accountant

To strengthen our Finance Team at our headquarters in Antwerp, Manuchar is looking for a GL Accountant who wants to go beyond traditional accounting.

In this role, you will not only ensure accurate financial reporting, but also actively contribute to improving processes, increasing efficiency and building a future-proof finance environment. You will work closely with various stakeholders and play a key role in both closing activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, including correct P&L presentation at G/L and cost center level;
  • Take ownership of month-end and year-end closings, including journal entries, accruals, amortizations and reclassifications;
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, analyse variances and proactively resolve discrepancies;
  • Safeguard the quality and integrity of the general ledger and support internal and external audits;
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Controlling and Reporting team for the respective legal entity;
  • Advise internal stakeholders on appropriate financial treatment and compliance;
  • Take an active role in identifying inefficiencies, challenging existing ways of working and driving process optimization initiatives;
  • Contribute to automation and ERP initiatives (Microsoft Dynamics 365), with a critical mindset towards improving scalability, efficiency and standardization.

Your profile

  • Min. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field, combined with approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant General Ledger experience, preferably in an international environment;
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT and relevant tax regulations;
  • Excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus;
  • Detail-oriented and reliable, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability;
  • Proactive and improvement-driven mindset, with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive optimization;
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Strong Excel skills, experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset;
  • Strong interest in process improvement, automation and contributing to efficiency and change within finance.
