The Opportunity

Join the Worldline Test Competence Centre as an Application Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and robustness of our electronic payment systems. You'll simulate thousands of transactions from Belgian cardholders across e-commerce and point-of-sale terminals, working with cutting-edge testing technology to maintain the highest quality standards for our global payment solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Execute performance and robustness non-regression test scenarios using advanced simulators and injectors;
  • Monitor and administer Linux servers to ensure system reliability and availability;
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to identify and resolve performance issues;
  • Report on test results and ensure performance targets are met for each new release;
  • Analyse system degradations with System Engineers, Database Administrators and Development Teams;
  • Create and maintain scripts using bash, python and other programming languages;
  • Provide technical expertise during high-pressure situations including incidents and releases.

Who Are We Looking For

  • Higher education in information technology or 2-3 years of experience in software testing;
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems and SQL databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL);
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java (17+), C++, Python, or TypeScript;
  • Experience with Spring Boot framework and Git version control;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with outstanding attention to detail;
  • Fluent English communication skills (both written and spoken);
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst collaborating effectively in team environments;
  • Knowledge of ISO 8583 standards would be advantageous.
