Job description

As a Business Line Controller, you will serve as the primary finance counterpart for finance staff from Eurofins companies in the assigned Business Line, ensuring integrity, consistency and transparency of financial information for management. You will oversee monthly and quarterly performance reporting, explain key movements in P&L, net working capital, Capex and other relevant financial matters from a corporate support perspective.

In addition, you will:

  • Review, challenge and validate financial submissions from Eurofins companies to ensure compliance with policies, reporting standards, assumptions and timelines;
  • Analyse deviations between actuals and budgets to inform management, and work with Eurofins companies to bridge gaps and monitor the actions taken;
  • Monitor adherence to standard budgeting, forecasting and reporting requirements, ensuring the quality, reliability and consistency of financial data across Eurofins companies within your scope;
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities for Eurofins companies in the assigned Business Line, consolidating inputs, challenging assumptions and providing management with a clear assessment of risks and opportunities. Regularly work with financial directors, regional and local controllers, finance teams and operational leaders across the network to ensure alignment of financial performance with reporting expectations;
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of standard controlling methodologies, financial reporting standards, KPIs and governance processes;
  • Drive the standardisation, simplification and automation of financial processes to improve the efficiency, accuracy and transparency of management reporting;
  • Support the implementation of finance policies, procedures and controlling standards, and contribute to ad hoc analysis, finance projects and system implementations supporting standard controlling activities.

Qualifications

Profile description:

  • Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. interview skills, oral and written communication skills, presentation skills) as this role will involve close collaboration with operational leaders across the Eurofins network as well as local colleagues and experts;
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on adding value;
  • Effective problem-solver with “can-do” mentality, able to both pragmatically define solutions, and understand all relevant details when necessary;
  • Technical knowledge IT: MS Office products with advanced level in Excel.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics or business;
  • 1 to 5 years of experience as a controller or financial analyst, or as an auditor. Controlling experience in a corporate support office is preferable;
  • Excellent level of English. Relevant additional languages are considered a plus.
