Accounts Payable (AP) Teamlead

Mission:

Manage the AP team, perform accounting and install new AP procedures to improve the current workflow. Think about process improvements related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coach the AP team;
  • Install new AP procedures;

Work with the team in the following tasks:

  • Review and verify invoices and check requests;
  • Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices;
  • Sort, code and match invoices, set them up for payment, and enter them into the system;
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments;
  • Prepare and perform check runs;
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records;
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions;
  • Prepare analysis of accounts;
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date;
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues (GR/IR);
  • Maintain vendor files and create new suppliers;
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries;
  • Produce monthly reports;
  • Assist with month end closing (prepare Inv. To be rec. accrual);
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits;
  • Maintain accurate historical records;
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information;
  • Manage the AP email address.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years AP or general Accounting experience;
  • Preferably already a solid leadership experience, but with a considerable Accounting experience and the right personality, we are open for a first-time teamlead;
  • Master degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Great English Language proficiency, Dutch and/or French as additional languages are a big plus.

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of accounts payable (end to end process/3 way match principle);
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures and software (SAP - S4Hana);
  • Knowledge of Sigma or other consolidation tools;
  • Proficient in data entry and management;
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, fluent user of Excel;
  • Experience in contract business;
  • Experience in controlling in international companies;
  • Have good knowledge and grip on contractual matter, understanding the contracts like FIDIC.
