The Head of Tax will be part of the finance leadership team and will report to the CFO. He or she will be responsible for all direct and indirect tax/VAT activities .

Tasks

Setting and monitoring the tax strategy and development of an operational plan for all tax and VAT matters by working with stakeholders within the Company to ensure that appropriate plans are in place to support the evolution of the business;
Manage all direct (excluding wage tax) and indirect tax/VAT matters, and provide direction to ensure tax compliance;
Manage relations with external advisors and consultants;
Lead tax planning projects such as IP structuring, rulings, R&D credits, etc.;
Support corporate restructuring & acquisition structuring;
Manage all interactions with the tax authorities of the 30+ countries we are present in;
Design and implement a tax risk & control framework;
Ensure any business changes are effectively and efficiently embedded with stakeholder buy in and support to ensure company compliance is achieved;
Monitor and document all intercompany arrangements to comply with transfer pricing rules;
Provide quarterly and year-end tax reporting.

Profile

Master’s in law, Economics, Finance or Accounting with additional degree in Taxation;
Qualified tax professional;
Minimum 7 years working experience, preferably a combination of experience in a Big Four tax consultancy firm and multinational industrial enterprise. Experience in tax planning at a strategic level;
In-depth expert knowledge of corporate income tax and sound knowledge of international corporate tax (transfer pricing, treaties, EU directives, etc.);
Knowledge/experience of VAT;
Good knowledge of IFRS (IAS 12, deferred taxes);
Strong numeracy and IT literacy skills;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Project management skills;
Strong ability to cooperate with different levels of people inside/outside the company;
Proactive;
Take ownership;
Analytical and decision-making skills, critical mind-set;
Willing to travel from time to time;
Fluent in English.
