Within the Global Strategy & Digital organization, the mission of the New Business Development Manager is to accelerate Aliaxis’ long term growth through enabling new digital ecosystems, partnerships, solutions and service offerings related to smart products and IOT that can solve problems faced by end customers and consequently drive new business opportunities.

Reporting into the Group Head of Strategy & Digital, you will handle the following responsibilities:

  • Create insights through voice-of-customer (VOC) and translate customer needs into solution requirements & proof-of-concepts (POC);
  • Develop value propositions (hardware, software, data analytics, services, etc.) and define appropriate business models;
  • Scan for and collaborate with various stakeholders to source relevant leads and to develop the appropriate solutions to address the customer needs;
  • Develop a sales pipeline with the objective to roll out a profitable, revenue generating activity;
  • Identify the latest industry trends and understand the competitive landscape through research and active engagement in the external community of customers, vendors, startups, universities and partners;
  • Impact the Aliaxis digital services/IOT vision and offering.
  • Location: close to one of our major European sites (ideally, UK, France, Germany or Spain).

Requirements

  • Management degree or similar;
  • 5+ years of experience in business development/sales of digital services, SaaS products or smart IOT;
  • Familiar with industry and IoT/digital trends and innovation;
  • Ability to solve customer business needs through an exploratory and commercial approach;
  • Experience in a commercial role in a startup or applying an agile methodology is a plus.

  • Role involves and requires dealing with ambiguity and entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Results-driven, pro-active, delivery focused, pragmatic, resilient;
  • Very self-driven to work in new territories for Aliaxis, to create new relationships with external stakeholders with whom we have limited interactions up to now;
  • Excellent business acumen and negotiation skills;
  • Strong communicator, effective at engaging and leading across levels, functions, businesses and geographies, both internally and externally;
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, can both think strategically and act pragmatically in implementation;
  • Constructive and creative challenger, knows how to bring change;
  • Ability to manage various stakeholders (customers, corporate, innovation, startups, suppliers);
  • Willingness to travel (30%);
  • Fluent in English, any additional language is a plus.
